Somerset, Kentucky
Pulaski County native and Mayor of Somerset Alan Keck came on stage to a standing ovation from “hundreds” of cheering and nearly ecstatic supporters.
Beforehand, as people lined around The Virginia, the venue for the night’s event, excitement was in the air. Attendees from numerous counties filled the newly restored Virginia in downtown Somerset. The announcement for governor came on the heels of a culmination of making a series of statewide contacts, speaking engagements, and a near 20 point victory in his reelection to another term as Mayor.
On stage, Keck immediately took control with a praise for his savior Jesus and thanked God. A captivated crowd from Bible Belt country honed in on every word and showed no lack of enthusiasm throughout the evening.
Two days later, Mayor Keck took to Facebook live and answered questions from his webpage for nearly 25 minutes; a powerful start to real transparency and forthrightness.
